ADR was born in a small place in Uboldo, in Lombardy region, Italy, in 1954. During World War II, the axle played a pivotal role in agricultural transportation. Following the war, Europe witnessed significant agricultural advancements in response to the growing demand for food. Traditional animal-drawn agricultural wagons quickly gave way to tractor-pulled trailer.

During the 1960s, the enhanced speed and power of tractors prompted the introduction of braking systems to enhance the safety of trailers. This led to the installation of drum brakes on the axles. The business ventured into new avenues, exploring the manufacturing of wheelbarrows, diverse trolleys, and accessories for the construction industry. Notably, this period also witnessed the production of the first semi-axles for the transportation of construction cranes. This marked a turning point for the company, as it solidified its position as the world's leading producer of axles, semi-axles, and later, complete suspensions for construction, agricultural, and special transport applications.

In 1980's it officially adopted the name "A.D.R." and emerged as one of Europe's most prominent axle manufacturers. In following years ADR Group expanded in markets worldwide across continents.

The establishment of ADR INDIA completed the Group's presence in countries and markets that demanded both axles and suspensions, solidifying its position as the leader with the most comprehensive range of products for various applications.

Currently, CDS (Cam Driven Systems) has corporate offices in Europe (Italy and Germany), North America (NJ, USA), and India (Pune), in addition to international sales representatives and distributors around the world.
