Established in 1884, the Piaggio Group is Europe’s largest scooter and motorcycle manufacturer and one of the world leaders in the industry.
The Piaggio Group product range includes scooters, mopeds, and motorcycles from 50 to 1,200 cc marketed under the Piaggio, Vespa, Gilera, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Derbi, and Scarabeo brands. The Group also operates in the three- and fourwheel light transport sector with its Apé, Porter, and Quargo ranges of commercial vehicles.
Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (PVPL) is a 100% owned subsidiary of the Italian auto giant, Piaggio Group. It is India’s leading manufacturer of small commercial vehicles, the iconic Vespa, the sporty Aprilia scooters, as well as the Apé Electrik brand.
PVPL commenced operations in India in 1999 and today is a leading player in the light transportation industry with a complete range of three-wheelers in Diesel, Petrol, CNG, LPG fuel variants as well as EVs.
In 2012, Piaggio disrupted the commuter scooter market in India by introducing the world’s favourite luxury scooter, the Vespa.
In 2016, Piaggio created a segment for performance scooters with the Aprilia SR that appealed to aspiring racers.
2021 saw the entry of India’s first cruising scooter, the Aprilia SXR, democratising the cruiser category and challenging the perceived boundaries of scootering.
